Believe:

1.to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so: Only if one believes in something can one act purposefully.

Evolution, with its abundance of evidence, is a fact. Nevertheless, there are those who ask “Do you believe in Evolution?” I accede to the truthfulness of Evolution as backed by the immense volumes of evidence supporting it. I accept it. Anyone who believes in Evolution has not examined it. Creationism and Intelligent Design possesses no evidence to back it and can only be believed in as it cannot be examined.

One accepts or rejects evolution while one believes or disbelieves in god.

Evolution is a proven fact. You accept it or you reject it. If you reject it, it still remains true. Creationism and Intelligent Design possesses no evidence. To accept it does not change the fact that it possesses no evidence. It remains without evidence.

Does this make evidence for god’s non-existence? As is often repeated, absence of evidence does not make evidence of absence.

In this nation, the United States, when one says god, it usually refers to the Christian god. When the history of Christianity is examined it can be deduced that it is a fabrication. This god, it can be said, is an invention. All of the gods of humankind can be eliminated in this fashion.

Does this make evidence for a god’s non-existence? This is at present untestable. The truth of this matter cannot be determined. All that can be said for sure is that there has been no evidence found for its existence.

Does this make all atheists in reality agnostics? No, not to the gods invented by humankind. Only in the case of some unknown god can atheists be said to be somewhat agnostic. I will grant such a possibility, that of some unknown god’s existence, a small .01 percent possibility. Arbitrary perhaps, but then I can proclaim myself 99.99 percent pure atheist. A .01 percent agnostic leaning can be dismissed as irrelevant. Okay?
